“It was my first experience EVER to be in a music recording studio and I recorded my own song.  We recorded the guitar track first and then my vocals. Jodie B was warm, sensitive, kind and super supportive in leading me through my first ever session. She made me feel comfortable and we connected really well from the start. She knew I was nervous but her professionalism and knowledge guided us through our session together.

I recorded my first song with Frequency studios and then I loved it so much I was addicted! I worked hard on writing a couple more songs and came back to Jodie a year later to have her help produce and record two more of my songs. It was clear that even after one short year, she grew professionally even more and I did as well with my experience based on our first time together.”

For my eighteenth birthday my dad bought me an hour long recording session at Frequency. I recorded two songs and had a really lovely time with Jodie. After the pandemic I went back and recorded some more music at Frequency and once again really enjoyed it! The environment is super welcoming and friendly. The space is very beautiful and Jodie really is a pleasure to work with.  I recorded four original songs that I wrote and sang while playing either guitar or ukulele. At eighteen I recorded “Yellow Walls” and “Letting Go” and this past year I recorded “Waiting with the Stars” and another unreleased song.  This was my second time recording with Frequency. I came back because I really loved how friendly and supportive Jodie was. She was very present and listened to me, she helped me out with the things I wasn’t sure about with my songs and just overall was such an incredibly warm presence. As a young singer it can feel a little daunting to put yourself out there and learn how to start sharing your voice, and Jodie was really so kind and helped me out so much. 

What was the highlight of your experience at Frequency?

I really love the wonderful conversations I am able to have with Jodie about music. She makes the space feel very calm and welcoming, and I’m never stressed when I start to record, because we’re always able to talk through any doubts I might have. I also am always impressed with Jodie’s skills when it comes to editing my songs, her ability to transform the ideas I have for my music into reality is always amazing. 

What did you think of the environment at Frequency?

The environment is really great. The space is beautiful, I love the decorations and just the overall vibe. I’m always super comfortable when I record my music. Jodie is super patient and helpful and encouraging which I really love.
